Position: SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will oversee the operations of the Security Department operating under pre-prescribed guidelines and procedures espoused by leadership.
* You will detect and investigate unusual situations/conditions and take required action to resolve various situations and request additional support, if necessary.
* You will perform a full range of force protection, anti-terrorism and sentry duties at installations or activities.
* You will respond to and investigate complaints while interpreting and enforcing state and federal laws, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), DoD and Navy regulations, and installation directives, rules and regulations. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
* Employee must successfully pass an initial, annual, or any required OPM, DoD, or DON Physical Agility Test.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
* This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
* You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
* This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
* Incumbent must be able to read, write and speak English.
* Employee is required to wear an assigned uniform and display official designated items or accessories to include additional required equipment. The employee must follow and adhere to applicable grooming standards for the installation.
* May be required to respond to other military installations within the region or off installation events when directed by higher authority to a disaster scene or during a national emergency.
* Shall be required to be CPR certified and utilize a portable heart defibrillator where available. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Directing and making immediate decisions in the provisions of law enforcement (LE), (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and Force Protection (FP);
2) Performing a full range of duties and responsibilities in preventing terrorist activities, resolving offenses, conducting preliminary and ongoing investigations of incidents;
3) Documenting law enforcement and security events and the issuance of citations; and,
4) Implementing FPCON measures and RAM in the the response to command direction and terrorist threats
