Experience:

Experience the natural beauty of Washington State Parks and get paid to do it! Temporary Washington State Park Aide Jobs are available. Park Aide roles involve working outdoors, performing physical tasks, and contributing to a mission to maintain a fantastic Parks system for everyone.

Positions may be seasonal or non-permanent and involve working in various parks in the South Sound Area with potential start dates from March to June and durations typically 3–5 months. Some positions may require weekend and evening shifts and physical duties such as cleaning, grounds maintenance, and basic facility upkeep.

This recruitment includes multiple non-permanent Park Aide positions located throughout the South Sound Area; details vary by park location.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain park facilities through light routine maintenance and janitorial services.
  • Perform grounds maintenance (mowing, weeding, pruning, raking, litter pickup).
  • Maintain park lawns using standard tools (mower, weed eater, trimmer).
  • Daily garbage collection and litter control; clean restrooms and stock supplies.
  • Clean rental properties and perform general housekeeping (windows, floors, sweeping, etc.).
  • Drive light state vehicles to transport supplies within the park and haul garbage.
  • Welcome Station duties may include providing visitor information, processing reservations, and POS transactions where applicable.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum age 17 years old.
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license (out-of-state license accepted with proof of validity at interview).
DESIRED

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bi-lingual skills preferred (Spanish, Ukrainian, Russian).
  • Welcome Station Park Aide: experience running POS systems and using Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Competencies
  • Ability to learn and interpret park rules, area information, and local history to educate visitors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain organization and timely completion.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment.
  • Ability to perform general maintenance to park buildings and facilities; janitorial skills and chemical handling.
  • Ability to perform physical labor and work in all weather conditions; ability to work weekends, holidays, and possibly evenings.
Uniform Information

All non-permanent Park Aides are required to wear a uniform. Uniforms help establish professional identity. Eligible for clothing stipend: $75 per calendar year (potentially $150 depending on duration). Some positions may provide a clothing stipend to offset clothing costs.
