Hourly Salary: $45.01-$73.79
Monthly Salary: $7,832.00-$12,839.00

Schedule:

1:30pm-10:00pm ) Sunday-Thursday (Friday/Saturday off)

The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Registered Nurse 2 (RN2) at the Stafford Creek Corrections Center in Aberdeen, WA. This position supports the Department's mission to improve public safety by delivering nursing services that promote health, foster healing, and support coping and adjusting to various health conditions. It supports the mission of the Health Services division by providing necessary, comprehensive, quality health services and promoting incarcerated individual wellness.

Registered Nurses will receive shift differential for evening/night shifts. Premiums may apply for certain hours.

Duties
  • Use tools, techniques, and physical and cognitive skills to practice nursing safely and effectively in the correctional setting within the scope of practice defined by state law and administrative code, ensuring patient care is safe, effective, and clinically appropriate.
  • Assess, monitor and interpret objective and subjective data about health status to identify patterns and variances from desired outcomes.
  • Develop nursing diagnoses and outcomes as a result of nursing intervention.
  • Plan delivery of health care with defined time frames and pathways, prioritizing and sequencing care; implement care plans by providing direct patient care and directing others as needed.
  • Obtain provider orders and accomplish prescribed interventions in a timely and clinically responsive manner.
  • Analyze and evaluate service delivery and outcomes; revise the care plan as necessary to prevent complications and address new problems.
  • Employ safety techniques to push, pull, lift and carry loads in accordance with policies.
Delegation And Task Assignment
  • Delegate patient care responsibilities to other nurses and assistive personnel after considering patient needs and task complexity.
  • Teach, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of tasks and the results of patient care.
  • Make nursing assessments based on data collected by staff and initiate treatment protocols accordingly.
  • Ensure practice is consistent with licensure laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Report deviations and participate in corrective actions as needed.
Communication
  • Communicate with incarcerated individuals, families, healthcare personnel, custody, and institutional staff to deliver safe, timely, and appropriate care.
  • Protect the confidentiality of health records as required by law and policy.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment plans.
  • Document care plans and clinical findings clearly in health records and required forms.
Qualifications
  • Initial and continuous unencumbered licensure in the State of Washington as a Registered Nurse OR an unencumbered Multistate License from a participating Compact Licensure State as per the Nurse Licensure Compact, with Suicide Prevention, EDIR training, and MLS demographic survey completion.
  • One year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR training.
  • Proficiency with computer-based programs for scheduling, monitoring, data entry, and email; ability to work independently with limited supervision.
