Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Acute General Surgery

Overview

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Acute General Surgery, full time, part of an experienced Acute General Surgery team at Providence Medical Group in Walla Walla, Washington. Responsible for inpatient First Assist, consults, H&Ps, discharge planning, patient education and rounding. Monday to Friday schedule, primarily General Surgery with occasional assistance on call for other specialties. 4 to 6 on‑call nights and weekends per month.

• First Assistant on scheduled surgeries and on call for first assist duties.
• Perform consults, H&Ps, discharge planning and patient education.
• Assist other surgeons when on call (e.g., Orthopedic, Urology).
• Participate in inpatient rounding and multidisciplinary team meetings.

• Advanced practice clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with 2+ years experience preferred.
• Board certification or eligibility in acute care general surgery or related specialty.
• Strong communication, teamwork and patient‑centered care skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

• Annual salary between $142,092 and $187,972, including call, shift and productivity incentives.
