DSHS BHHA Clinical Quality Information Coordinator
The Behavioral Health and Habilitation Administration (BHHA) is dedicated to delivering essential services to individuals with developmental disabilities across long-term community programs and BHHA-operated residential facilities. Our work strengthens independence, dignity, and quality of life for people who rely on compassionate, skilled support.
We are seeking a Clinical Quality Information Coordinator also known as a Developmental Disabilities Administrator who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of care across Washington’s Residential Habilitation Centers and the Lake Burien Youth Transitional Care Facility.
Responsibilities- Monitor and report quality data as related to the regulatory requirements of BHHA facilities including Intermediate Care, Nursing Facilities and Residential Treatment Facilities
- Track trends and analyze data to assess Electronic Health Record (EHR) effectiveness, driving cost-effective improvements that enhance workflow, patient flow, and regulatory compliance
- Escalate system issues and need for system improvement in conjunction with and in support of other subject matter experts and health disciplines at the facilities
- Understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures that impact facility services
- Research data across multiple applications to resolve discrepancies and/or improve workflow and compliance
- Work with team members to implement solutions to system related problems to minimize operational impact and ensure compliance with regulations
- Assist in the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of systems to meet compliance with regulations
- Act as subject matter expert in the needs of the facility in the health records system and other related systems
- Provide consultation and technical support regarding use of EHR systems when questions, issues and/or errors arise
- Provide direction and conduct staff training to ensure consistent use of tools and application by BHHA staff
- Ensure that policy and practices are consistently implemented
- Provide expert level recommendations for enhanced training or continuing education training needs based on monitoring data outcomes
- Understand and interpret the DSHS/BHHA mission, program policies and procedures, WAC and other regulations to staff, clients, families, service providers, and other interested groups
- Develop and distribute internal communications and publications to support clear understanding of the EHR
- Coordinate with other BHHA facilities and other DSHS administrations to ensure policies and procedures are consistent and integrated with the applicable policies and procedures of those agencies and programs
- Participate on statewide work-groups as assigned involving planning, policy development, and system development
Professionals with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, special education, business administration, public administration, or other related fields and four years of professional experience in the human services field of which:
- two years of experience working in the community with people who have developmental disabilities.
- one year of supervisory, administrative, or professional program service delivery responsibility.
With the exception of (A) and (B), graduate training may be substituted, year for year, for the required experience.
Equivalent education/experience
What We Are Looking For- Expert-level knowledge of the current electronic health records system in use at BHHA facilities serving individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- Detail oriented and capable of exploring innovative solutions to solve complex problems and address issues through the use of a combination of delivered and custom-developed tools
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, and maintain a positive attitude
- Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work
