Psychology Associate - project position Washington Corrections Center for Women (WCCW) — Gig Harbor, Washington.
Shift: Monday-Friday. The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the role of Psychology Associate for the Washington Corrections Center for Women (WCCW) located in Gig Harbor, Washington.
The Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Psychology Associate (RSAT-PA) works to directly improve public safety by positively changing lives through grant funded trauma treatment targeting recidivistic factors relevant to incarcerated women. This position provides entry level mental health care service under both the supervision and lead of licensed psychologists, to adult incarcerated individuals (I/I’s) housed ervision is provided by a Psychologist 4, to include direction and consultation for clinical issues.
Additionally, a Psychologist 4 is the lead designated to provide oversight and review for operational and daily assignments.
Correctional Health is a rewarding career path at the Department of Corrections, in which health care professionals treat a wide array of cases for patients residing in a state correctional facility. Health Services is responsible for basic primary care for incarcerated individuals. All disciplines within all of the 12 correctional facilities work closely together to reach a common goal, providing the best, most efficient, and cost-effective health care possible.
Emphasis is placed on early identification of health concerns, care for acute and chronic health problems, and preventive care.

DutiesDuties To Include
- Provides direct trauma treatment.
- Provides individual and group trauma treatment.
- Assesses clients on his/her RSAT caseload regularly for increases or decreases in symptoms.
- Documents all contacts with patients in a timely manner via Mental Health Encounter Reports (MHER’s) utilizing SOAP format.
- Inputs daily Offender Management Network Information (OMNI) encounters (electronic) on all incarcerated individuals seen that day.
- Triage 13-420 requests for individuals in the RSAT program and make appropriate treatment and follow-up referrals as clinically indicated or required by policy.
- Respond to Requests for Mental Health Assessment (form 13-420).
- Co-lead intervention groups with Substance Abuse Recovery Unit (SARU) providers.
- Coordinates care with program partners
- Participate in team meetings.
- Attend and provide input in Facility Risk Management Team (FRMT) meetings.
- Will collaborate with Substance Abuse Recovery Unit (SARU) on shared cases.
- Consult and collaborate with the Primary Therapist (PT) to monitor treatment progress and for input in annual updates.
- Be a contributing and supportive team member
- Attend MH and Health Services staff meetings (on-site and off-site), read/critique assigned materials.
- Support and suggest innovative ideas and strategies.
- Foster teamwork.
- Practice fiscal responsibility.
- Promote safety, be alert, be aware.
- Attend all required training.
- Answer questions from unit staff regarding implementation of the RSAT program.
- Trains staff
- Train and monitor practicum students to follow the RSAT WCCW model.
- Answer questions from students and unit staff.
- Ensures RSAT protocols are followed
- Assist in collection and tabulation of research data.
- Participate in monthly data meetings with supervising psychologist to review and update data.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (LAAC)

- Must have the ability to apply for Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor License within 30 days of hire date.
