Salary Range: $4,735 - $6,356 Monthly

The Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a motivated and critical thinking team player to join the Cedar Creek Corrections Center (CCCC) team as a Fiscal Analyst 1.

Responsibilities

The goal of this position is to ensure the accurate and timely management of agency resources by performing general fund accounting and reconciling general ledgers accurately and timely. As an FA1, this position is responsible for a multitude of tasks including local fund and general accounting activities such as daily deposits, journal vouchers, general ledger and purchase card reconciliations. Duties include preparing gate release funds and arranging transportation as requested on an incarcerated individual s release paperwork and accurately processing deposit and withdrawal activity for locally held accounts.

This role requires collaboration and communication in local team meetings, fostering professional relationships, aligning best practices with counterparts at other facilities, and ensuring timely information sharing with customers including custody staff on potential security issues.

Qualifications

What we need (required qualifications):

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Accounting 201 and Accounting 202 from an accredited college or university or foreign equivalent
  • One (1) year of relevant experience

Relevant experience is defined as Fiscal Technician 2 or above level work.

  • With a degree focused on accounting or business management/administration: an AA degree can be equivalent to 1 year of required work experience; a BA degree can be equivalent to 2 years of required work experience. Equivalencies are reviewed by the Comptroller/designee; degrees outside focused areas will not count toward experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • A business-focused Bachelor’s degree with minimum 20 accounting credits, including Accounting 201, 202, 203 and Governmental Accounting.
