The Tool Repair Technician plays a critical role on Fastco’s పాల్గల shift, directly supporting the Cold Heading team by ensuring their tooling is repaired, rebuilt, and ready to run. This position is essential in keeping machines operating at peak performance—your work directly impacts uptime, product quality, and overall production flow.

In this hands‑on, high‑precision role, you’ll diagnose and repair tooling and assemblies using a variety of equipment such as grinders, presses, and honing tools. You’ll collaborate closely with Cold Heading setup technicians throughout the night, providing timely repairs and troubleshooting support so they can keep production moving.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Procurement of tooling using different types of equipment, such as I.D. Grinder, O.D. Grinder, Surface Grinder, Drill Press, Honing Equipment, Lathe Manual, Band Saw
• Prioritize tooling needs based on the cold heading production schedule.
• Inspect finished tooling to ensure quality standards are met.
• Perform grinding operations.
• Track tooling throughout the tool room ಸಿನಿರ
• Read and interpret complex prints for layout and assembly operations.
• Complete the required paperwork and enter relevant data into the ERP system, PLEX.
• Participate in all departmental continuous improvement initiatives and duties.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Tool Room Supervisor and/or Team Lead.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND

SKILLS:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic data entry skills.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Effective time management and prioritization skills.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Experience using different types of measurement equipment, such as micrometers and calipers.
• Preferred qualifications:
  
  Experience reading blueprints, troubleshooting, and operating different types of manual equipment, such as Surface Grinder, O.D. Grinder, Lathe, etc.
