Buyer - Walker Area

Salary Range: $58,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
• Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
• Issue purchase orders and manage their lifecycle to ensure timely delivery of materials for production.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and foster strong vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., production, engineering) to understand material requirements and specifications.
• Analyze market trends and commodity prices to inform purchasing strategies and mitigate risks.
• Optimize inventory levels to support production schedules while minimizing carrying costs.

• 2-5 years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor) for procurement processes.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and logistics.

• Experience with advanced ERP modules or e-procurement platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa).
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience in international sourcing, including customs and logistics.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for spend analysis and reporting.
