Job DescriptionThe Customer Experience Associate is responsible for the following duties, in addition to other responsibilities as assigned:
- Smiles and greets customers, answers questions, and resolves concerns promptly and professionally. Follows company policies relating to checkout to increase customer satisfaction.
- Operates front‑end scanning equipment and cash register, performing all checkout procedures including efficient bagging and placement of merchandise in the customer’s cart.
- Maintains accuracy during transactions, ensuring the customer is charged correctly and appropriate funds are collected, including cash, checks, electronic payment, and coupons. Follows all store and legal guidelines regarding the sale of tobacco and alcohol, and adheres to security and cash drawer procedures to prevent overages or shortages.
- Keeps up-to-date knowledge of weekly ads, marketing promotions, and store layout to answer customer questions.
- Performs general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines to maintain clean work areas, equipment, counters, and displays that meet health and OSHA requirements.
- Works cooperatively with co‑workers and supervisors to ensure smooth department and store operations, continuously improving job performance.
- Utilizes all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, company-sponsored footwear, etc.
- Assists in other departments as called upon.
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualification RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without an accommodation. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Education and/or experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) completed or in progress. No prior experience required.
The hourly rate for this position starts at $15.00 and goes up to $22.00.
