• Smiles and greets customers, answers questions, and resolves concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner, following company policies to increase customer satisfaction.
• Operates front‑end scanning equipment and cash register, performing all checkout procedures including efficient bagging and placing merchandise in customers’ carts.
• Maintains transaction accuracy, ensuring correct charging for all items and proper handling of cash, checks, electronic payments, and coupons while following security and legal guidelines for tobacco and alcohol sales.
• Stays informed about weekly ads, marketing promotions, and store layout to answer customer questions.
• Maintains general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to keep work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases clean and compliant with health and OSHA requirements.
• Supports smooth department and store function by cooperating with coworkers and supervisors and continuously improving job performance.
• Uses all company‑provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company‑sponsored footwear.
• May be called upon to assist in other departments.

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

• High school diploma or GED (completed or in progress). No prior experience required.

The hourly pay for this position starts at $15.00/hr and is up to $22.00/hr part‑time associates receive a competitive salary and access to a variety of benefits and resources, including medical coverage, supplemental plans, dental, vision, short‑term disability, term life, AD&D, voluntary insurance, retirement savings plans, employee assistance program, pet insurance, and paid time off and sick pay where eligible.
