Merchandiser - Garden Retail

Our Garden Group, providing sales support and logistics for proprietary and consumer brands, is seeking a full-time Merchandiser in Waldorf, MD. The role involves stocking and arranging product displays—including grass seed, chemicals, and clay pottery—across Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Walmart stores.

• Down stocking and maintaining set integrity for Central Garden grass seed, chemicals, bird feed, fertilizer, and clay pottery
• Set and maintain the shelves according to retailer mandated planograms/modulars
• Install and maintain off‑shelf display opportunities for Central Garden products
• Weekend consumer interaction during peak season (training provided)

• Previous merchandising experience preferred
• Strong communication skills needed to interact with store management and consumers
• Strong reading skills needed to understand packaging labels and re‑tagging projects
• Must be able to bend, pull and lift 50 lbs. consistently throughout the work day
• Must be able to climb ladders, use a pallet jack and hand‑powered tools
• Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of residence, a good driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of current personal car insurance with you listed as an insured driver
• Must have daily access to internet/email
• Must have a personal smartphone with Android 13.0+ or iOS 15.0+ for daily communications with supervisor
• Responsible, reliable and dependable work habits
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safety

• Retail store environment—garden center and throughout retail stores
• Work week Monday‑Friday with some weekends (primarily Saturday)
• Must be able to bend, pull and lift 50 lbs. consistently throughout the day
• Must be able to climb ladders, use a pallet jack and powered hand tools
• Daily travel throughout territory may require driving time (personal car)
• Remote (optional)

• Pay $16.00–$18.00 per hour based on experience
• Reimbursement of potential cell phone expenses and mileage/travel at $2.00 per diem per hour worked
• Monthly allowance of $10.00 to cover personal data plan expenses
