Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Fee for Services: $75 for New Evaluation; $60 for follow-up visits.

Job Responsibilities- Follow the Policies and Procedures of K&I Healthcare Services
- Assess, examine, diagnose and treat patients with mental illness by conducting a comprehensive family assessment
- Assess the impact of acute and/or chronic illness, psychiatric disorders and stressors on the family system
- Identify, select and implement clinical evidence-based best practices and programs
- Dose, administer and monitor ketamine treatment (training provided)
- Develop a plan of care
- Establish and maintain appropriate standards for diagnosis and treatment, including therapeutic modalities and prescribing practices
- Ensure medical aspects of quality management
- Conduct psychiatric assessment and diagnostic examinations
- Oversee the linkage between primary care (physical) health system and behavioral health care system
- Prescribe and provide medication management; counsel on the benefits and side effects of taking the recommended medications as well as the effects of not taking medication
- Other duties assigned based on job description
- Provide excellent patient care in an individual and group setting
- Collaborate with patients and have strong interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented and exceptionally organized
- Maintain healthy boundaries with staff and clients
- Communicate with compassion and empathy
- Communicate effectively; speaking multiple languages is preferred
- Learn about new patients quickly and have strong critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Build rapport quickly
- Manage time and prioritize tasks
- Master’s, postgraduate, or doctoral degree from a psychiatric‑mental health nurse practitioner program accredited by CCNE or ACEN
- Graduation from a state‑certified advanced practice program specializing in a psychiatry/mental health
- Licensed by the state of Maryland as a Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner with active DEA
- Knowledge of DSM diagnoses and a variety of therapeutic modalities and interventions
- Knowledge of resources targeted toward the health of adults, children, youth and families
- 2+ years’ experience as an RN; 3 years’ experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner
