Job Summary

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, a proud member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, are seeking an upbeat, professional, and articulate Substitute Public Address Announcer for the 2026 season. This position plays a key role in enhancing the overall fan experience by serving as the in-stadium voice for Blue Crabs home games at Regency Furniture Stadium.

This is a part-time, seasonal opportunity for individuals with a strong vocal presence and a passion for live sports entertainment in a fast-paced, game-day environment.

Job Description

The Public Address Announcer will work under the direction of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs front office and game presentation staff to deliver clear, engaging, and professional announcements throughout all home games and select special events during the season.

Responsibilities

- Serve as the in-stadium public address announcer with the ability to project and enunciate clearly over the microphone in front of large crowds
- Announce in-game action, including, but not limited to, lineups, pre-game ceremonies, player introductions, and in-game promotions
- Accurately deliver all sponsorship and promotional reads as scripted
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor while representing the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs brand
- Work closely with the in-game emcee and game presentation team to ensure smooth execution of all elements
- Be available for all Southern Maryland Blue Crabs home games, with the potential for postseason games
- Perform other game-day duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Previous public address announcing or vocal broadcasting experience preferred
- General knowledge and understanding of baseball, including rules, positions, and terminology
- Strong vocal clarity, timing, and professionalism in a live-event setting
- Ability to take direction and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well as part of a collaborative game-day team

Time Commitment

2026 Southern Maryland Blue Crabs season. Availability required for all home games, including nights, weekends, and potential postseason games

Compensation

Part-time, seasonal position. Compensation commensurate with experience.
