Role OverviewAt Boxbar, we believe in perfect dispense quality at speed; the draught dispense technician's role is vital to enabling a consistent experience. As part of this role, you will build and refurbish Box Bar machines at our Wakefield Workshop and install fixed assets at our clients’ venues.
You will be responsible for building a reliable dispensing system to ensure quality and consistency. Carry out maintenance and repairs at our clients’ sites to a high standard, ensuring all machines continue to dispense perfectly.
- Key Responsibilities
- Build and test dispense systems in the workshop to a high standard.
- Carry out site installations of beer‑dispense equipment for venues.
- Commission systems to deliver consistent beer quality from keg to tap.
- Conduct maintenance and repair visits, identifying early signs of wear, faults or reliability issues.
- Drive continuous improvement: bring innovative ideas to improve installation methods.
- Maintain accurate documentation of builds, installs and service visits; complete job reports, technical records and service logs.
- Act as a technical ambassador onsite, training venue teams in system operation, hygiene and care to maintain beer quality.
- Work safely and in line with best practices, ensuring all installations and service visits meet compliance, health & safety and quality requirements.
- Several years’ experience working in beer‑dispense systems, installations, service or related roles.
- Track record of delivering high‑quality installations and maintaining systems in venue or field settings.
- Strong understanding of how system components, routing, cooling and dispense setup affect beer quality and reliability.
- Comfortable working independently in the field, managing varied workloads and interacting with clients on‑site.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude sufficient to assemble, install and service dispense systems.
- Able to read schematics and technical instructions, and translate them into clean, reliable installations.
- Proactive, detail‑focused, takes ownership of quality and reliability of the work delivered.
- Forward‑thinking: you seek better ways, challenge standard practice and drive innovation in your field.

- Excellent communicator, comfortable interacting with venue staff, clients and internal teams.
