Customer Team Member (18+) – SPAR Outwood

Hours per week: 16 hours (may increase) – shifts available between 7am and 10pm.

Remuneration: Up to £12.25 p/hr (depending on age).

We have an exciting opportunity for a SPAR Customer Team Member. As a Customer Team Member at SPAR Outwood you will support the store management team and contribute to a positive customer experience through ‘Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food for later and Food for now!’. You will assist in maximising sales and profit by carrying out allocated tasks to improve the store performance and provide excellent customer service.

• Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Answer customer inquiries about products and services and assist customers in finding the items they need.
• Process customer purchases efficiently and accurately through the tills, maintaining a positive and friendly service.
• Upsell selected products and highlight multi‑buy offers to maximise sales at the store.
• Stocking duties: checking deliveries, stocking shelves, maintaining a clean and organised sales floor, rotating stock to ensure freshness and compliance with expiration dates.
• Complete additional assigned tasks such as date‑checking, gap‑checking, price changes, promotional displays and other tasks as required.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and processes.

• Previous experience in a similar retail role or industry (preferred).
• Reliable following of instructions and procedures with excellent attention to detail.
• Understanding of legislative responsibilities in a retail environment and the ability to assist with compliance.
• Creative ideas for delivering outstanding customer service and driving the business forward.
• Experience with a ‘Challenge 25’ policy desirable.
• Keen and enthusiastic approach to working both in a team and independently.
• Cash‑handling experience preferred but not essential.
