Press Brake Operative

We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our clients manufacturing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to accurately bend and shape sheet metal components.

This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a solid understanding of fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate press brake machinery according to specifications and production schedules
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine bending requirements
Adjust machine settings to achieve precise bends and angles
Inspect finished components for quality, ensuring they meet specified tolerances
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on press brake equipment
Utilise hand tools, tooling, and other fabrication equipment as needed
Assist with material handling, including loading sheet metal onto machines and organising finished products
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

Skills

Proven experience in fabrication, welding, grinding, or related manufacturing roles
Mechanical knowledge of press brake machinery and tooling systems
Familiarity with sheet metal work and the use of hand tools for assembly and finishing tasks
Basic mathematical skills for measurements, angles, and calculations required during setup
Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
Strong understanding of safety procedures related to metal fabrication equipment
Good organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control purposes
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
