We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team at the Supported Living service we have a variation of contracted postswithin Wakefield andthe surrounding areas
As a Support Worker in the Supported Living Service you will be caring, adaptable and committed to making a positive difference to people's lives. We are looking for an individual who is willing to learn and able to work as part of a team, you will be joining a supportive team and training will be provided.
Due to the nature of the role, support workers are required to have a flexible approach to cover duty rota as necessary, a typical rota includes early shifts / late shifts and you must
be willing to work evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and sleep in enhancements are paid on top of the basic salary, additional hours/ overtime may also be available on top of the contacted hours!
- Supporting people with a learning disability in their own homes and enabling them to live as independent a life as possible.
- To work as part of a team or independently in a range of community settings
- Enabling and encouraging tenants to undertake daily living skills including cooking, and other household tasks.
- Providing practical, personal, and emotional support, including intimate personal care.
- Administering medications in line with the Directorate's policy and procedures.
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent is desirable (not essential)
- Willingness to achieve NVQ 3 in Care
- Previous experience working in care, both work and personal experience is relevant
- A can-do attitude with the ability to work as part of a team
