Speech and Language Therapist - Band 6 or Band 5​/development

Opportunity

This role is part‑time (30 hours per week) and permanent, based within Wakefield but requires essential travel across the Yorkshire and Humber region. The successful candidate will support vulnerable children and young people aged 10‑18 who display forensic behaviour, working closely with the Forensic CAMHS MDT and other local services to ensure effective communication needs are met.

• Provide specialist Speech, Language and Communication (SLT) assessment, intervention and consultation for vulnerable young people, recognising and supporting individual strengths and challenges.
• Inform decision‑making within the FCAMHS MDT about Speech, Language and Communication needs (SLCN), ensuring the population’s communication needs are met.
• Liaise effectively with professionals, carers and family members to recognise, support and maximise each individual’s communication needs.
• Develop integrated and holistic care by working closely with other local SLT services and partner agencies.

• Experience working with learning disabilities, Autism and mental health in a community setting.
• Part‑time (30 hours per week) with working hours 9am‑5pm, Monday‑Friday. Flexible working arrangements options available.
• Essential travel across the Yorkshire and Humber region.
