We are looking for a volunteer to run activity sessions at our Wakefield Services. Volunteering with Creative Support is a great way to enrich the lives of people with support needs while helping our staff to deliver person‑centred services. We are looking for a creative person with strong communication and leadership skills. You will consult the people we support and plan a programme of activities in line with their interests.

Sessions could include arts and crafts, music, games, etc. If this sounds like something you would enjoy and you have a few hours to spare on a regular basis, we’d love to hear from you. You will work with staff to promote activities to the people we support, plan sessions in advance, preparing any necessary materials and/or equipment, and lead the activities, making them accessible for everyone.

Our Wakefield services support adults with a range of care and support needs. The people we support in Wakefield are particularly interested in taking part in indoor activities such as sensory play, board games and movie nights.

• Consult people we support to plan engaging activities in line with their interests
• Prepare for activities, including set‑up, moving tables and chairs if necessary
• Lead activity sessions, engaging with people we support
• Tidy up after activities, returning the room to normal
• Report any safeguarding concerns to Creative Support staff members
• Understand and work within Creative Support Policies and procedures, respecting boundaries
• Attend regular supervisions with your allocated volunteer supervisor and complete any training provided
