Job Title: Practitioner Psychologist
Location: Meadowcroft School, Wakefield, WF1 4AD
Salary: Up to £65k (FTE, DOE) plus £3,000 Welcome Bonus (payable as £1,500 after one month and £1,500 after probation, terms apply)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, to overlap with core school hours; part-time hours may be considered
Contract: Permanent (term-time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances)
Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a Practitioner Psychologist, you will join our in-house clinical team at Meadowcroft School and deliver psychological assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs. You will:
- Work collaboratively with the education team within the standards provided by OFG Psychological Practice Ways of Working.
- Hold a psychological caseload with support from your designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
- Contribute to school development, staff training, and consultation as required.
- Be resilient, creative, and enthusiastic in delivering services within an education setting.

Essential Criteria- HCPC registration.
- Doctoral level degree in Clinical, Counselling, Forensic, or Educational Psychology (or equivalent if qualified prior to the introduction of the Doctorate).
- Relevant experience in related settings or with related client groups.
- Experience of effective multi-disciplinary working and communicating with families/carers.
- Experience of working with multiple systems within an organisation (service development, group and individual levels).
- Experience of operating using a model of assess, plan, do and review; experience of using consultation as a method of service delivery.
- Adequate competence in core areas of psychological practice and knowledge of trauma-informed practice and neurodiversity.
- Ability to develop formulations and inform clinical intervention plans and recommendations; ability to develop and deliver training.
- Ability to write coherent and accurate clinical records and reports; excellent communication in complex situations.
- Effective IT skills or aptitude to learn core IT platforms; ability to work with a range of professionals towards outcomes.
- Ongoing CPD, ability to use evaluation tools to improve service effectiveness and outcomes.
- Ability to make independent clinical decisions when necessary; excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Flexible working approach, willingness to travel on company business, full driving licence and access to a car.
- Experience with specific client groups (e.g. neuro-diverse, SEMH) and settings (schools and/or residential care).
- Experience providing supervision; knowledge of current philosophies underpinning services for the client group.
- Post-qualification training relevant to the role and service; training in evidence-based interventions/approaches.
