We are seeking experienced and motivated Healthcare Assistants to join our bank of sessional staff working for GP Care Wakefield. If youve been a Healthcare Assistant for over a year working within primary care, have experience using Systm One and Ardens templates, are looking for some extra hours wed love to hear from you!
GP Care Wakefield is looking to expand its bank of Healthcare Assistants, offering the opportunity to work across any or all of our six sites:
- Trinity Medical Centre, WF1 1PG
- Northgate Medical Centre, WF8 1NF
- Kings Medical Centre, WF6 2AZ
- Church View Health Centre, WF9 3AP
Flexible Working:
We offer a range of 2-4 hour shifts, including weekday evenings and Saturday daytimes. Shifts can be booked up to two months in advance via Lantum, our user-friendly rota system. There is no minimum commitment simply choose the shifts that work best for you.
As a Healthcare Assistant working for GP Care Wakefield youwill play an important role in providing care to our patients.

- Part 1 Long Term Condition Checks as per Ardens (eg,diabetes, hypertension etc)
We also offer the following specialist clinics:
- NHS Health Checks
Health Care Assistants joining the bank will need to be ableto do all tasks in our general clinics.
About usConexus Healthcare is the GP confederation for all practices in the Wakefield District.
GP Care Wakefield offers Enhanced Access to general practice on evenings & weekends for the Wakefield & District population. In addition to appointments with GPs and ANPs the service offers routine clinics with a Practice Nurse/HCA that can be booked in advance by the patients practice.

Person Specification Qualifications- Certified for the Healthcare Assistant role through a qualification such as, Health and Social Care City & Guilds, Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education, Open University, apprenticeship, or evidence of other.
- Evidence of phlebotomy competency.
- Up to date with Mandatory and Statutory Training as defined by Conexus Healthcare.
- Spirometry training (ARTP or equivalent).
- Evidence of Making Every Contact Count training.
- Highly organised and methodical.
- Ability to work independently, seeking assurance from the wider extended hours team if necessary.
- Two years experience of working in primary care as a Health Care Assistant.
- Currently working clinically in a healthcare setting.
- Use of Systm One.
- Work in a Wakefield district GP practice.
- Performing spirometry for 1+ year.
- Information governance standards.
- Confidentiality.
- Infection prevention and control.
- Safeguarding.
- Equality & Diversity.
- Pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Flexibility to meet service needs.
