Management Accountant

Wakefield£50,000 - £55,000

We are exclusively partnered with an established construction business in Wakefield as they look to appoint a Management Accountant.

This position will suit a proactive accountant who enjoys taking ownership of the numbers, challenging existing processes, and working closely with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement across the finance function.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to come in and act as a strong number two to the Financial Controller

• Full responsibility for month-end management accounts preparation, including commentary

• Production and review of balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring strong financial controls

• Lead on budgeting and forecasting, working closely with operational teams

• Ownership of cash flow forecasting

• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiencies across finance

• Provide insightful analysis, challenge assumptions, and make commercially focused recommendations

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

• Strong background in management accounting within a fast-paced environment

• Confident in challenging the status quo and offering constructive solutions

• Detail-driven, commercially aware, and keen to make a tangible impact
