Position: Environmental Manager (Permanent)
Futures are working with a National Manufacturing business who due to a period of growth are looking to appoint an Environmental Manager. The Environmental Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s environmental management strategy to ensure legal compliance, reduce environmental impact, and support sustainable manufacturing practices. The role drives continuous improvement across energy use, waste, emissions, water, and materials while supporting business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS), aligned to ISO 14001.
Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, permits, and licences.
Act as the primary contact for environmental regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders.
Lead environmental audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
Identify and deliver initiatives to reduce energy consumption, carbon emissions, waste, and water usage.
Support the development and delivery of the company’s net zero / carbon reduction strategy.
Manage waste streams, recycling, and disposal in line with legal and best practice requirements.
Reduce landfill dependency and improve circular economy outcomes.
Deliver environmental training and awareness programmes for site teams and leadership.
Promote a strong environmental culture across the business.
Prepare environmental performance reports for senior leadership.
Support ESG, customer, and investor environmental reporting requirements.
Key Skills & Experience

Proven experience in an environmental, sustainability, or EHS role within manufacturing or industrial environments.
Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
Experience implementing or maintaining ISOsystems.
Data-driven approach to environmental performance management.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
