Electrical Senior Authorised Person (SAP) / Chemicals / West Yorkshire / £70-75k + bonus and benefits
An established chemical manufacturing site in West Yorkshire is seeking a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to act as the Site Electrical Duty Holder, with full responsibility for the integrity, safety, and performance of the site’s electrical infrastructure.
This is a senior, highly visible role offering long-term stability, strong investment, and the opportunity to lead electrical safety, compliance, and improvement initiatives across a complex, regulated environment.
You will be accountable for maintaining and optimising the site’s electricity distribution systems while ensuring full compliance with UK, EU (BS EN), and corporate electrical safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as Site Electrical Duty Holder
* Ensure full compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations, BS EN standards, and corporate requirements.
* Lead and manage the electrical scope of capital and maintenance projects and manage subcontarctors onsite.
* Own and control the electrical discipline budget.
* Lead investigations, maintain and govern site electrical procedures, manuals, and permit systems
* Conduct audits of working practices and statutory compliance
* Nominate, mentor, and develop Authorised and Competent Person
* Use SAP for purchasing, budgeting, and statutory inspections
Experience &
Qualifications:
Essential
* 5–10+ years’ experience in chemical, petrochemical, COMAH, or similarly regulated environments
* Previous appointment as a Senior Authorised Electrical Person and experinece with HV systems up to 11kV
* Strong working knowledge of hazardous area electrical equipment
Desirable
* Degree in Electrical Engineering
Skills & Competencies
* Expert knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations
* Strong understanding of electrical systems in hazardous areas
* Confident leader with excellent communication skills
* Able to manage multiple priorities, budgets, and stakeholders
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP
* Fluent in written and spoken English
