SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist Schools | Wakefield | £90–£105 per day

We are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in specialist schools across Wakefield. This role requires full-time availability and offers day-to-day, short-term, long-term, and temp-to-perm opportunities.

The Role

Supporting children with SEN/SEMH needs

Working 1:1 or in small groups

Assisting with learning, behaviour management, and emotional regulation

Using an empathetic, trauma-informed approach

Requirements

Experience working with children (school, care, youth work or similar)

Experience supporting SEN or SEMH

Strong behaviour management skills

Resilient, patient, and team-focused

Desirable

Team Teach training

Compliance

36 months professional references

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Overseas police check if you lived/worked outside the UK for 3+ months since age 18

Pay: £90–£105 per day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
