Are you a highly skilled and adaptable professional ready to take on a complex role supporting student achievement across all learning platforms? Join us as an Advanced Teaching Assistant, crucial in delivering targeted interventions and high-quality learning activities to individuals and small groups, both physically and online. This is an opportunity for an experienced individual to monitor progress, implement statutory development plans, and support diverse student needs, including those with SEND, EAL, and gifted/talented status.
Welcome from the Principal:
Being part of Outwood Academy City Fields means bringing high-quality opportunities and experiences to our diverse, multicultural school in the heart of Wakefield.
We seek someone who can provide meaningful engagement and help all students, staff, and visitors thrive. Anyone taking on this role should be prepared to challenge themselves to meet the needs of our diverse community.
As Ofsted noted, our actions are directed and guided by putting ‘students first.’ Leaders set a strong example of high ambition, which is mirrored by all staff. We want the very best for our pupils in whatever walk of life they engage in.
We are seeking to appoint an Advanced Teaching Assistant with the drive to contribute to an atmosphere of respect, recognition, optimism and mutual support within the school which promotes equality within and values the diversity of the school community. You will be required to work closely with members of our Inclusion Team and have the energy and creativity to develop and inspire students learning.
The role of an Advanced Teaching Assistant across our Academy is to promote the learning and welfare of children by providing practical and learning support to children with communication and interaction needs, including those with Education Health Care Plans, under the direction of the class teacher, SENDCo or the extended inclusion team. This will involve planning, preparing and delivering bespoke interventions to support students to help with their ability to communicate with others, understand social cues and express themselves with confidence;
to record and review the impact of these interventions, so as to inform the next steps and identify any further interventions that may be required.
Outwood Grange Academies Trust provides a high-quality learning and cultural environment that inspires and motivates children. Whether you are ambitious for progression, or determined to be an outstanding member of our support team, Outwood Academy City Fields is the place for you.
