Job Title: Graduate / Final Year University Student – Classroom Support Role

Pay: £85–£100 per day (depending on experience)

We’re working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Wakefield who are looking for graduates and final-year students to join them in a classroom support role. It’s hands‑on, meaningful experience that gives you a genuine feel for school life.

• Supervising whole classes when teachers are off timetable
• Supporting students in lessons, including those with SEND
• Helping young people stay engaged and on track
• Building confidence leading a classroom
• Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff

You won’t be left to figure it out alone. There’s structure, guidance, and a team around you.

If you’ve mentored, coached sport, volunteered, worked with young people, or supported peers at uni, that all counts.

If you’re thinking about teacher training, this gives you real classroom exposure before you commit. You’ll build behaviour management skills, confidence, and a proper understanding of how secondary schools operate.

And if you’re heading into another youth‑focused career, you’ll gain experience supporting a range of needs, including SEND, which is hugely valuable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
