Leader Education are looking for compassionate and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistants to support specialist schools in Wakefield
. This role is flexible
, ideal for part‑time or ad hoc bookings, and perfect for anyone passionate about helping children thrive in a nurturing, school‑based environment.

• Support pupils with a wide range of needs, including MLD, SLD, Autism, and complex learning needs
• Provide 1:1 and small group support in the classroom and during structured activities
• Help children access learning, build confidence, and develop life skills
• Assist with personal care as required, adapting to the needs of each pupil

• Experience with SEND is desirable but not essential
• Passionate, patient, empathetic, and proactive individuals
• Candidates from care, youth work, health & social care, psychology, sport, or creative arts backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• Comfortable working as part of a school team and adapting to each child’s needs

• Flexible ad hoc work, with potential to move into permanent roles
• Dedicated consultant support every step of the way
• Access to Team Teach and SEND‑specific training
• Full AWR compliance to ensure fair pay and conditions

All candidates are required to complete Leader Education’s vetting process. An Enhanced Child or Child & Adult DBS is mandatory, and support is available if you need to apply for one.
