SEN Intervention Specialist description
The SEN Intervention Specialist is responsible for delivering targeted support to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at helping students overcome barriers and rebuild confidence.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions focused on emotional regulation, social skills, communication, and academic catch‑up.
- Support students with SEMH needs, including trauma‑informed practice, resilience building, and self‑esteem development.
- Work alongside teachers, pastoral teams, and the SENCO to monitor progress and adapt interventions.
- Use evidence‑based strategies such as Zones of Regulation, nurture principles, restorative practices, and cognitive‑behavioural approaches.
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEND needs; a calm and emotionally intelligent approach; strong communication skills; a passion for relationship‑based, child‑centred support. The role requires a proactive, patient and resilient attitude, as students may need support that goes beyond the typical classroom setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
