About The Role

Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is pleased to announce a vacancy aimed at doctors at any level of training, who are passionate about their practice and their career outside traditional models. We will tailor the job to suit individual’s training requirements. Our post will combine education and career development with practical patient-facing care.

This post is not recognised UK training post. However, the post-holders will have a named supervisor, and be supported in undertaking scheduled educational opportunities within the Trust and specialties.

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated doctor, to join our Plastic Surgery Department from August 2026 for a 6-month period. The post holder may be offered an extension provided satisfactory progress based on consultant feedback and documented progress on ISCP portfolio.

The post holders will be expected to work on the 1:8 registrar on call rota. Depending on the level of experience, we will endeavour to tailor the post to allow all necessary competences to be achieved. For less experienced trainees we will help trainees to achieve required competences for national selection at ST3 level. More senior trainees will be given the opportunity to develop their skills in their chosen sub-specialties.

We are passionate about teaching and training. We encourage our residents to actively participate and be involved in the organisation of courses. This provides an excellent opportunity for residents to develop the teaching and training components of their portfolios.

Our departmental ethos is to promote high quality, patient centred care in burns and plastic surgery through education, training and research in an environment that is supportive, inclusive, and forward thinking.
