The Medical Records Clerk provides essential administrative and clerical support to the Occupational Health Unit, helping ensure the smooth, professional and confidential delivery of services to officers and staff. In this role, you will greet visitors, manage appointments, and act as a helpful first point of contact for enquiries. You’ll maintain practitioner diaries, organise clinic information, and ensure referrals and documentation are complete so clinics run efficiently.
A key part of the job involves processing sensitive medical correspondence, updating electronic records on systems such as Cohort, and keeping filing, tracking and reporting tools accurate and up to date. You will also produce typed reports, letters and other documents to a high standard. The role requires regular liaison with internal colleagues, external medical practices and other forces to gather information, support referrals and maintain accurate medical histories.
Success in this role relies on strong attention to detail, excellent communication, the ability to prioritise busy workloads, and a consistent commitment to confidentiality, professionalism and the Force’s values.
