Staff Accountant

• Support the month-end and year-end close processes; provide Finance Department with required information
• Record monthly journal entries and accruals, including preparing the accompanying supporting schedules
• Generate invoices to customers for revenues earned
• Enter or approve bills for vendors and customers
• Monitor cash movement and perform cash reconciliations, loan reconciliations
• Reconcile other accounts such as AR, AP, prepaid assets, fixed assets, and leases
• Prepare certain audit schedules, support, and work papers for review and submission to external auditors
• Assist with miscellaneous tax work, tax filing requirements, and compilation of tax return support
• Contribute to documentation and reporting requirements for new activities that occur as the business grows
• Assist with maintaining accounting information dashboards that aggregate key accounting data points
• Complete special projects, ad-hoc reporting, analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree, accounting or finance preferred
• 1-3 years of accounting experience, energy industry experience is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Excel preferred
• Ability to prioritize
• Organized and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects with deadlines
• Problem solver, see how different areas of the business function standalone and in aggregate to help generate efficiencies
• Interest in professional and technical growth and development
