Global Tier 1&2 automotive manufacturer seeks a Materials Manager. THIS ROLE IS IN MY CLIENT'S CHATTANOOGA, TN PLANT!!!!

This position manages production scheduling, inventory control, shipping/receiving, warehouses, and purchasing to maintain 100% customer service and to minimize product cost.

• Understand ISO 9001 requirements / Olympic Quality Policy. Always follow work instructions and procedures as established through Olympic Quality Policy.
• Schedule foam line.
• Ship product to customers.
• Evaluate plant capacity and correct shortfalls.
• Maintain inventory reports/records.
• Manage plant inventories to agreed upon levels.
• Maintain management reports, inventory, TQM, shipping performance forecast.
• Problem solving and trouble shooting.
• Procedure writing and implementation.
• Keep area neat, organized and clean as well as follow 5S principles as they are appropriate.
• Cross train in other positions as required.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed by the employee’s supervisor.

Directly supervises employees in the Materials Department (customer service reps and materials clerk). Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Well-established Tier 1&2 automotive FOAM supplier with a global presence seeks a MATERIALS MANAGER for one of their most profitable plants in Chattanooga, TN.

Bachelor's degree (B.

A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Do you have recent and/or solid AUTOMOTIVE industry experience?
• Do you have solid experience (5S, 7 Wastes, KPI’s, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing processes)?
• Do you have direct supervisor experience of employees in the Materials Department (customer service reps and materials clerks, etc.)?
