JOB SUMMARY

The Audio Visual Technician performs day‑to‑day audio visual (AV) functions, including scheduling, end‑user coordination/training, troubleshooting and equipment installation/repair. Operates and maintains AV equipment for live events. Deploys new AV hardware and software. Maintains equipment as needed. Researches and implements best practices to resolve equipment issues. Performs basic PC technician duties (computer builds, etc.).

  • Be familiar with all types of audio visual equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to resolve and articulate complex issues.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to deal effectively with a variety of interpersonal relationships.
  • Discretion when handling customer accounts and concerns.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work independently, multi‑task, and prioritize.
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills.
  • Work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Write correspondence.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • Follow instructions.
  • Perform basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of database, spreadsheet, and word‑processing software;
    Microsoft packages preferred. Type 45 words per minute.
  • Conduct business ethically with customers, vendors, and co‑workers.
  • Exercise resourcefulness in assisting customers.
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands, change approaches or methods to best fit the situation, renegotiate deadlines, and handle frequent changes, delays, or unexpected priorities.
  • Generate suggestions for improving workflow; present ideas and information, and ask for help when needed.
  • Read and interpret documents such as employee handbooks, safety rules, and the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Be customer focused.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid state Driver’s License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience working with audio visual equipment.
