Responsibilities- Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy and in all Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, coach other technicians and cashiers.
- Model and deliver a distinctive and Architecture customer experience.
- Engage customers and patients, greet them, offer assistance, resolve issues, and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
- Develop strong relationships with key customers.
- Assist in the practice of pharmacy within state, réflexion, and company policy; review and comply with the Walgreens Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager including using pharmacy systems to enter patient drug information, accurately fill prescriptions, check for interactions, and schedule workflow.
- Report prescription errors to the pharmacist and follow Company policies for pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
- Adhere to Walgreens Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during:
R distribution activities - Register all sales on the assigned cash register, handle cash, and direct customers to the OTC aisle when possible.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including those to physicians.
- Process and resubmit manual claims for third‑party program prescriptions efficiently.
- Support Pharmacy Department inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
- Assist with the administration of clinical services, such as collecting and labeling blood/urine samples, and coordinate with Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
- Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist to build and maintain relationships with local medical providers via detailing and outreach.
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance of the Pharmacy Department, ensuring adequate supplies and a clean, organized appearance.
- Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated program or state-required certification. Earn PTCB certification as a condition of promotion to senior technician.
- Attend training requested by Manager and acquire continuing education credits. Maintain knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy developments.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Prefer strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.
- Prefer good computer skills.
- Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
- Prefer PTCB certification.
