Onsite in Wahiawa, HI
Our client supports tactical communications modernization for defense stakeholders by delivering systems engineering, integration, and field support across ATH, OTM, and SATCOM networks. The team coordinates closely with program leadership and unit staff to align network operations, testing, and deployment with mission objectives.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $70.00 to $80.00/hr w2
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Hawaii focal point and SME for ATH, OTM, and SATCOM tactical networks under PdM Network Modernization.
- Identify and report problems to program leadership, recommend resolutions, and document systems configurations, incidents, and test procedures and results.
- Configure, validate, and test tactical network systems delivered to units.
- Exercise technical leadership to drive agreement on actions, schedules, and conflict resolution for support operations and systems.
- Coordinate system development tasks with systems engineering leads to address integration challenges and new requirements.
- Provide systems engineering oversight for development and testing of SATCOM systems, baseband networking equipment, and software.
- Collaborate across embedded support teams to implement plans of action and accomplish program objectives.
- Represent the program at unit and stakeholder planning conferences and working sessions.
- Develop and present briefings on systems engineering and network architecture planning and test efforts.
- Support network planning, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and teardown.
- Coordinate closely with unit CFSRs, S6 staff, and other personnel to align activities.
- Support occasional travel and uncommon tours including nights, weekends, and holidays as mission requires.
Experience Requirements
- Eight or more years of related tactical network engineering experience. Fifteen or more years may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing, integrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting tactical and strategic communications networks within a military framework.
- Proven track record delivering high-quality network engineering solutions in operational environments.
- Experience with network services such as DNS, DHCP, Mail, Active Directory, SharePoint, and other user services (preferred).
- Experience with PdM Network Modernization products (preferred).
- Specialized experience gained as an engineer in industry or as part of active, reserve, or National Guard units (preferred).
- Active Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to work an uncommon tour based on mission requirements and support occasional travel.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Testing, or a related field, or an additional seven years of related tactical network engineering experience in lieu of degree.
- Active Secret security clearance required.
