About the Role

The Nursing Assistant - Med/Surg plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment. This position is responsible for assisting registered nurses and other healthcare professionals in delivering essential services to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during their hospital stay. The Nursing Assistant will monitor patients  vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and maintain a clean and organized environment.

By effectively communicating with patients and their families, the Nursing Assistant helps to foster a supportive atmosphere that promotes healing and recovery. Ultimately, this role is vital in enhancing the overall patient experience and contributing to positive health outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a medical-surgical setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Additional certifications in specialized areas of patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification.
Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Provide support to nursing staff by preparing equipment and assisting with medical procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
