Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for assisting the Patient Care Manager with department operations for the delivery of safe, effective and efficient nursing care in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Care and Practice as defined by Ridgeview Medical Center, the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice. Participates in planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating patient care activities, staff education, and management activities as delegated by the Patient Care Manager.
Functions as a supervisor in the clinical setting, as a resource, educational support, communication liaison, and role model of Professional Nursing Practice.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or actively completing in 3 years
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
- Demonstrated critical thinking and decision making
- Demonstrated clinical expertise
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
- Demonstrated skills in management and supervision
- Current professional nurse licensure in Minnesota or if licensed in another state, a permit from the Minnesota Board of Nursing while the license application is in process
- BLS Certification and other certification (s) as required by the unit/department
- 3-5 years of acute care RN experience
- At least 1 year Leadership Experience
