Highway Maintenance Technician

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full‑time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform advanced maintenance operations in Waco, Texas during the day, mid, and night shifts. The position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, signs, guardrail, and/or drainage and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

• Exposure to using shovels, weed‑trimming machinery, brooms, and various small hand tools
• Air compressor operations familiarity
• Minimum 2 years of related experience
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Construction or roadway maintenance experience
• Guardrail and sign installation experience
• Concrete forming/repair experience
• MOT (traffic control) certifications/courses
• Operator of wheel loader, skid‑steer, forklift, asphalt roller, etc.

• Roadway maintenance experience
• CDL license (a plus)
• Bilingual:
  English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required

• High school diploma/GED
• Clean driving record is essential; must pass criminal background check
• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e., criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carrying out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smartphone applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Full time; day, mid, and night shift available. Must be able to work during weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.
