As a Senior Lead Software Engineer, you will be part of the Enterprise Model Platform (EMP) team responsible for the UI used by all Capital One Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers. You will lead a team of developers, design and develop cross‑platform front‑end applications, collaborate with product managers, and ensure robust cloud‑based solutions that empower millions of Americans.

• Lead a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full‑stack systems.
• Perform software development on front‑end applications using test‑driven development.
• Own the technical design and development of cross‑functional, multi‑platform application systems.
• Share a passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, and mentoring peers.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud‑based solutions that drive powerful experiences.
• Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript (Angular, React, Node), HTML/CSS, Type Script, and Java, as well as open‑source frameworks, RESTful web services, and cross‑browser/device development.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply).
• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).

• Master’s Degree.
• 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following:
  JavaScript, React, Angular, Node, Type Script, or Java.
• 4+ years of experience in open‑source frameworks.
• 1+ years of people management experience.
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.

Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.

• New York City (Hybrid On‑Site): $230,100 – $262,700 for Senior Lead Software Engineer.
• San Francisco, California (Hybrid On‑Site): $243,800 – $278,200 for Senior Lead Software Engineer.

This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives.
