The City of Waco Seeks:

The City of Waco is seeking a skilled and motived Traffic Signal Technician to join our team and contribute to the maintenance, installation, and repair of traffic signal systems. The ideal candidate will have general electrical work experience.

Minimum Qualifications ;

Required:
  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year of general electrical work experience.
  • Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License within 180 days.
  • International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Traffic Signal Technician certification within 2 years.
  • Additional technical training and certifications may be required.
Position

Description:

Under basic supervision, installs and maintains traffic control signals on City streets.

Essential Functions:
  • Installs, repairs, and replaces traffic signals according to assigned work orders; tests and cleans systems and components; and replaces wiring, fuses, bulbs, and other parts.
  • Inspects and maintains traffic signal hardware and electric and electronic controllers; check schematics and diagrams and performs preventive maintenance.
  • May be required to be on-call, respond after hours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency.
