About the Role
We’re on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced Executive Chef to take the reins of a bustling culinary operation near Waco, Texas. This role is perfect for a hands-on leader who thrives in high-energy environments, excels at streamlining operations, and is passionate about delivering exceptional food quality while managing costs and inspiring a team. This position offers a competitive base salary of $90,000, along with performance-based bonuses tied to achieving key operational milestones.
- Kitchen Operations & Quality Control: Lead and oversee all back-of-house activities, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to health and safety standards.
- Standard operating procedures: Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency in food preparation, presentation, and quality.
- Operational optimization: Troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges to enhance kitchen efficiency and performance.
- Financial Oversight: Take ownership of back-of-house financial performance, including food and labor costs.
- Cost optimization: Optimize food costs through effective inventory management, waste reduction, and strategic purchasing.
- Labor management: Manage labor budgets by creating efficient schedules aligned with sales forecasts and business needs.
- Team Leadership & Development: Build, train, and retain a high-performing kitchen team, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
- Mentorship & growth: Provide mentorship and clear growth opportunities to reduce turnover and enhance team engagement.
- Performance management: Conduct regular performance reviews, offering constructive feedback to help team members grow and excel.
Experience & Expertise:
- 3–5 years of culinary management experience, with at least 2 years in an Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager role.
- Proven success in managing high-volume kitchen operations while maintaining top-notch quality and safety standards.
Skills & Certifications
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, menu costing, and recipe development.
- Proficiency with kitchen management software and tools.
- Serv Safe Manager Certification (required).
