Primary Purpose
Work under moderate supervision to prepare and serve appropriate quantities of food to meet menu requirements. Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices.

Education/Certification: None specified
Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to understand written and verbal food preparation and safety instructions. Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures. Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools. Basic math skills.

Major Responsibilities and Duties
Food Preparation and Serving:
- Prepare quality food according to tested and uniform recipes.
- Serve food according to schedules and policies, promoting portion control and proper use of leftovers.
- Store and handle food items and supplies safely, maintaining a clean storage area.
Safety and Sanitation:
- Operate tools and equipment safely, follow cleanliness and safety standards.
- Maintain sanitary garbage areas.
- Report unsafe conditions and maintain personal hygiene.
Other Duties:
- Handle cashier functions accurately.
- Record food requisitions and order supplies.
- Maintain food prep records.
- Promote teamwork.
- Complete continuing education requirements.
- Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Perform duties using alternative methods when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Prolonged standing, frequent bending, pushing, pulling, twisting.
- Frequent walking, climbing, grasping, reaching.
- Frequent lifting (15–44 pounds).
- Work inside in a commercial kitchen environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, hazards, and wet conditions.
Tools/Equipment Used:
Standard kitchen equipment including slicers, mixers, fryers, etc.
Work involves frequent interruptions, maintaining emotional control under stress.
