Overview
Electrolit Manufacturing USA (EMUSA) is a new, state‑of‑the‑art beverage manufacturing facility in Waco, TX. The 640,000‑sq‑ft. facility is situated in the Texas Central Industrial Park and will operate on a 24/7 schedule, producing and distributing 26 flavors of Electrolit™ – the fastest‑growing isotonic hydration beverage in the US.
Position SummaryThe Tool Room Technician maintains, repairs, and organizes industrial tooling, dies, molds, and fixtures to ensure manufacturing efficiency and safety. Key responsibilities include operating manual machinery, interpreting blueprints, managing tool inventory, and performing preventative maintenance. Requires 2–5 years of technical experience. The technician will support continuous production, minimizing downtime through proactive and quick response to emergency repairs. This role requires strong machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to problem‑solve in a fast‑paced production environment.
The position involves handling sensitive information and will therefore require an NDA.
- Tool Maintenance & Repair:
Construct, repair and maintain tools, fixtures, dies, molds, and jigs to ensure safe, reliable performance. - Machining Operations:
Operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and welders to fabricate or repair parts. - Inventory & Control:
Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; check tools in/out for production. - Troubleshooting:
Inspect tools for damage or wear and assist in troubleshooting issues on the production floor. - Safety & Organization:
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly tool room, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. - Sharpening, Rebuilding & Polishing:
Perform sharpening, rebuilding, polishing, and alignment of tooling components. - Root‑cause Analysis & Corrective Action:
Conduct root‑cause analysis for tooling failures and recommend corrective actions. - Fabrication & Assembly:
Perform welding, fabrication, and small mechanical assembly when needed. - Inspection:
Inspect machined parts to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications. - Stock Management:
Monitor stock levels of tooling, spare parts and consumables; coordinate reorders to prevent shortages. - Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of tool usage, repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
- Production output and throughput targets.
- Accuracy and quality rates.
- Adherence to safety, regulatory and compliance standards.
- Equipment uptime, utilization and operational efficiency.
- On‑time completion and schedule adherence.
- Participation in and contribution to continuous improvement initiatives.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational certifications in machining, CNC or industrial maintenance are a plus.
- Strong proficiency in manual machining processes.
- 25 years of experience in a tool room, machine shop or industrial maintenance environment.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and schematics.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauges).
- Knowledge of tool steels, heat‑treatment processes and machining materials.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to diagnose tool failures and recommend process improvements.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills for tolerances and measurements.
- Basic understanding of industrial equipment, hydraulics and pneumatics (preferred).
- Fluency in English required;
Spanish a plus.
This position is performed primarily in a manufacturing and production environment within a beverage manufacturing facility. The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, automated and manual production equipment, wet or humid conditions, temperature variations and moderate to high noise levels. Employees may be required to work on elevated work surfaces, platforms, ladders or stairs, and in or around confined or restricted spaces in accordance with applicable safety procedures and training.
