Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to operate the Sandiacre machine and ensure appropriate packaging of bagged products. At Pilgrim’s, safety is a priority, and we have implemented measures to maintain a safe and COVID‑19 compliant workplace.

• Fill bags with appropriate amount of product.
• Ensure bags are not overfilled with air.
• Ensure machine settings are correct.
• Enter correct date codes on bags.
• Ensure equipment, including blades, bag seals, rear seals, and jaws, are in working order.
• Keep film filled and use correct film.
• Check weights on bags.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support production demands.

Education and Experience
Less than high school education, or up to one month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

License and Certification
Sandiacre operator certification.

Training Requirements
All employees must attend safety orientation before performing the duties. Subsequent training includes supervisor orientation, workplace introduction, and assignment demonstration. A training buddy may be assigned for a period to assist.

Physical Demands
Regular standing, handling, reaching, talking, hearing, occasional walking, lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Requires use of vision, color vision, and focus.

Work Environment
Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and vibration, loud noise.

Protective Equipment
Hair net, beard net (if necessary), gloves, smock, slip‑proof boots, ear protection. Employees may request exemption from COVID‑19 vaccine for medical, religious, or personal reasons.
