Texas Oncology is looking for a Pharmacy Manager to join our team. This position will support the Waco location. This is a full‑time Monday‑Friday 8:30am‑5pm position with no weekends, calls, or major holidays.

What Does the Pharmacy Manager Do?Oversees pharmacy operations, ensures requirements are met, manages budget, establishes policies and procedures, initiates quality assurance, consults with clinicians, analyzes data, provides clinical expertise, conducts research, and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program.
Responsibilities- Researches and performs critical and statistical analysis of medical and scientific evidence to develop disease management guidelines and pharmacoeconomic comparisons of cancer therapies and regimens.
- Develops pharmacoeconomic models for case rating, capitation forecasts, and cost of goods sold reductions.
- Directs implementation of drug management.
- Conducts process improvement programs and coordinates disease management partnership implementation and follow‑up.
- Oversees pharmacy services in accordance with governmental, legal requirements, and other regulatory standards.
- Develops departmental goals and objectives, establishes policies and procedures.
- Prepares budget and financial reports, monitors resource allocation, informs staff of new drug regulations.
- Establishes charging and billing procedures, assumes responsibility for dispensing all medications, establishes drug control procedures.
- Develops drug purchasing systems, resolves internal coordination problems, analyzes operating reports.
- Manages corrective action, selects and trains new personnel.
- Initiates staff development, ensures proper training of admixture technicians and pharmacists.
- Assumes overall responsibility for pharmacy inventory, ensuring proper levels, pricing, drug outages, recalls, etc.
- Evaluates performance, recommends merit increases, promotions, disciplinary actions, reviews departmental performance and ensures compliance with accreditation, quality assurance, legal and other regulatory requirements.
- Acts as education resource, consults with medical staff, participates in teaching and in‑service programs.
- Collects data, prepares reports, answers correspondence, compiles statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
- Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients and medical staff, performs all functions required of pharmacists and technicians as required.
- Manages the activities of pharmacy staff including registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Minimum five years’ experience as a registered pharmacist, with at least two years prior supervisory and management experience.
- Five years’ experience in a pharmacy with IV skills.
- Oncology background preferred.
- Prior experience in pharmacy management.
- Must possess current Texas Pharmacist license.
Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, reading and noting appropriate measurements. Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods, occasionally lifts up to 40 lbs, corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
