Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

$16.00/hr – $18.00/hr

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members, including greeting, eye contact, courtesy, and Walgreens service traits.

• Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
• Recommends items for sale and trade‑up or companion items.
• Registers customer purchases on assigned cash register, collects cash, and processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
• Assists customers to the OTC aisle when possible.
• Keeps counters and shelves clean, well merchandised, and performs inventory checks.
• Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Reports prescription errors immediately and adheres to company policies and the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Handles phone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including physician calls.
• Performs clerical duties such as processing manual claims for third‑party programs and maintaining inventory records.
• Supports pharmacy department on inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, storing, and filing claims for overages or shortages.
• Ensures compliance with state and local laws for regulated products.
• Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal merchandise.
• Assists with separation of food items and product placement according to policy.
• Plays the role of the photo area, offering passport, poster print, and creative machine services.
• Assumes web pick‑up responsibilities, filling orders and delivering them to customers.
• Maintains a clean, orderly store condition and supports maintenance tasks.
• Complies with all company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification.
• Attends training and completes PPLs requested by Manager or assigned by corporate, acquiring continuing education credits.
• Makes use of latest news and developments in healthcare and pharmacy.

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• Minimum six months of retail experience.
• Previous experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
