Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer 1. The work will be done onsite, full-time in Waco, TX. This is a 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $19/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer 1 will support production operations by applying engineering principles to improve manufacturing processes, efficiency, and quality. This role focuses on production support, tooling and routing updates, standard work documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams on the factory floor to troubleshoot issues, support new product introductions, and implement process improvements. This position is ideal for an early-career engineer looking for hands-on manufacturing experience.
- Key ResponsibilitiesStudy time, motion, and methods to improve production efficiency and standard rates
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to support manufacturing processes
- Update tooling, routings, BOMs, and standard work documentation
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and engineering change implementation
- Assist with workflow planning, layout optimization, and material handling improvements
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including problem-solving sessions and workshops
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, project, and facility engineering teams
- Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships accepted)
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret engineering prints and blueprints
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365
- Familiarity with CAD tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing floor environment
- Preferred QualificationsExperience with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Exposure to SAP, Teamcenter, or similar manufacturing systems
- Familiarity with Visio, 5S, and root cause analysis techniques
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
