Instructs training courses within the Law Enforcement Academy on an as-needed basis, determined by the assigned chapter topics and the instructor's subject matter expertise. This position reports to the Coordinator of Law Enforcement Academy. Employee may not exceed 19.5 hours per week.
NOTE:
This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Significant exertion on a daily basis. Awkward positions and sustained activities require strength. Frequent moderate lifting is required (30-60 lbs.). Minimal Hazard/Exposure:
Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
BENEFITS:
Part-Time Retirement. Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security (FICA)
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
* Subject matter expert in the chapter topic
* Documented knowledge/training/education
* High School Diploma or Equivalency
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience teaching in a law enforcement environment
* TCOLE instructor certification
* Texas Licensed Peace Officer
